Sustainability through the process
We have taken steps to improve the sustainability of the processes we use to manufacture and manufacture our stone. We have implemented innovative technologies to help us reduce waste. With this tool, we can cut stone more efficiently, minimize material waste and maximize efficiency. Additionally, our customers enjoy savings and can use less labor to manufacture each board.

We also take steps to minimize water usage in processing stone. Water is used to control heat during processing and to help cut the gemstone itself. By its very nature, stone requires a lot of water due to its hardness and durability. Currently, we have improved our treatment process so that we recycle about 98% of the water. We even custom designed a water filtration system in our manufacturing facility that captures it and removes the stone residue so it can be reused.

At Globalstonesite, we believe that everything has a purpose - and when it doesn't, we bring together our team's collective knowledge to find one. For example, when we customize a job with leftover scrap or waste material, we shred the scrap into aggregate that can be used in gardens or flower beds.

Also, did we mention that our commitment to sustainability has led us to develop stone that is thinner and lighter than traditional building stone? The smaller size and lighter weight greatly reduce the fuel needed to transport this material, especially over long distances.

Sustainability through products
By its very nature stone is a sustainable product as it has no shelf life. In fact, the older the Stone Age, the more valuable it becomes. This is especially true for materials like cobblestone, which we often buy from cities to rebuild streets. We found we could buy used natural granite stone and granite curbstones and offer them to our customers for resale; the stone's rich history and patina made it a customer favorite.

The same concept applies to antique bluestone and Statuario marble, both of which are often used in villas or churches in Europe. Whenever possible, we believe in preserving and recycling existing stone to reveal its history and beauty.
